Volcanic Activity in B.C. for the Past 10,000 Years
Source: Natural
Resources Canada
This map shows the known volcanic activity in British Columbia for the past 10,000 years.
B.C. is home to five volcanic belts, which include many of Canada's volcanoes that are less than five million years old.
Select volcanoes in Washington State and Alaska are included either because they have been active in recent history, or would impact B.C. if they erupted. For example, Mount Baker in Washington State is close to the Canadian border, and one of its drainages enters the Fraser Valley.
Legend
