Friday, December 7, 2012 is the 26th annual CBC British Columbia Food Bank Day. We are celebrating the incredible and continuing generosity of the CBC audience . Millions of dollars have been raised and hundreds of thousands of British Columbians who need the services of food banks have benefitted from our annual event.
Again this year we are inviting the public to come to our Open House at the CBC Broadcast Centre in downtown Vancouver to see how we make radio, television and digital programming.
Doors are open at 5:30 a.m. with Rick Cluff and The Early Edition live in Studio 700. From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. you can tour CBC Vancouver's integrated newsroom and meet your favorite CBC on air personalities and reporters.
All CBC B.C. radio local and regional shows are broadcasting special programs to help inspire you to donate. You can make a contribution to the Food Bank of your choice at the Open House, online anytime or call our pledge lines 1-866-226-4642 or 604-662-6470 on Friday December 7, 2012.

Victoria
CBC Victoria's morning radio show On The Island, will welcome the public to an open house from 5;30am - 9am. Host Gregor Craigie will be offering great incentives to Food Bank Day donors and introducing us to the people, the politics and philanthropy that lies at the heart of the day in a special broadcast held at the CBC Victoria Studio located at 1025 Pandora Avenue.
Jo-Ann Roberts, host of All Points West is hitting the road and will be broadcasting live from Vancouver along with host Stephen Quinn of On The Coast.
CBC Victoria is cleaning out its cupboards and CDs from the CBC Record Library will be available by donation at the Mustard Seed Foodbank located at 625 Queens Avenue from 6am - 5pm.

Kelowna
December 7 marks the 26th anniversary of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Food Bank Day, and this year, CBC Kelowna’s radio show Daybreak will welcome the public to an open house from 6 am – 9 am. Host Chris Walker will be joined by musical guest Andrew Allen for a special live broadcast held at the CBC Kelowna studio located at 243 Lawrence Avenue.
The Okanagan's afternoon show Radio West is going on the road for a special broadcast from the Tournament Capital Centre in Kamloops from 4 pm - 6 pm. Hosted by Rebecca Zandbergen, the broadcast will feature choral music to get you in the holiday mood, interviews with local food bank volunteers and a special musical performance by Kris Ruston.
The public is encouraged to come down, join in the activities and make a donation to the local food bank.

Kamloops
Join your favourite local CBC Radio personalities at the Tournament Capital Centre on December 7 for the 26th anniversary of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Food Bank Day.
CBC Radio One’s Daybreak Kamloops broadcasts from 6 am – 8:30 am with host Shelley Joyce and musical guest Sabrina Weeks of Spring Cat Bounce.

Join CBC Radio One’s Daybreak North hosts Betsy Trumpener and Leisha Grebinski for a special live broadcast on December 7 from 6 – 8:30 am. The public is also invited to an open house from 7 am - noon to raise money for CBC/Radio-Canada’s Food Bank Day at CBC Studios in Prince George.
Betsy will broadcast from CBC’s studio in Prince George located at Unit 1, 890 Victoria Street and will be joined by Nova Voce choir, Jeremy Stewart, and Raghu Lokanathan. A CD & book sale will be held to raise money.
Leisha will be live at Cowpuccino’s Coffee House located at 25 Cow Bay Road, Prince Rupert.
The public is encouraged to come down to either location, make a cash or food donation and enjoy some light refreshments.

While you visit us at 700 Hamilton Street in Vancouver and take in all the live action - you can also make a donation to the Food Banks of B.C. or the local food bank of your choice. With a minimum donation of $20 you can get a kitchen catcher for your compost. (You will not get a tax receipt.)
