Ride the wind, admire the countryside and sip champagne in the RE/MAX Balloon! Your Hot Air Balloon adventure begins when you meet your Pilot and Flight Crew. The morning flights meet approximately a 1/2 hour before sunrise and the evening flights approximately 2 1/2 hours before sunset.
At the launch site in Langley, your flight crew will brief you on your upcoming balloon adventure. Then, you will watch with awe as your balloon takes shape before your eyes, ultimately standing more than 10 stories tall. Once fully inflated and ready for take off, you climb into the gondola and begin the adventure of a lifetime.
During your flight you will get a spectacular bird's eye view of the area and will drift silently over the city and countryside where you will watch for wildlife and talk with envious onlookers down below. After drifting serenely for approximately an hour we prepare for landing.
Once on the ground, we share in the oldest of ballooning traditions, a champagne toast and revel in the peace, tranquility and beauty that you never before knew existed.
For ballooning we require light winds, good visibility and no precipitation. We fly at approximately 1000 feet above built up areas, but will come down to touch the tree tops or skim across the corn fields if we are out in the countryside. The flights are approximately 1 hour in length, however we do require you for up to four hours in total for the entire adventure.
Since we fly with the prevailing winds, our flight patterns and landing sites vary due to the changing wind directions. There is no wind chill and very little feeling of movement or sensation of height.

Food bank facts - Give a little bit
Almost every British Columbian has been affected by the economic turmoil but none so much as the poor and working poor. Many have had to join the ranks of the thousands of fellow citizens who rely on food banks to help feed themselves and their families.
CBC Radio One Food Bank Day: A brief history
In December 1986 The Afternoon Show host Patrick Munro hosted the first CBC Radio Food Bank Day. Vancouver was basking in the afterglow of the highly successful Expo '86 yet the lineups at the newly established Vancouver food bank were growing.
That first show was two hours long and raised about four hundred dollars as well as two or three boxes of canned goods. In 1987 the morning show The Early Edition and B.C. Almanac joined in and did special food bank related programs all on the same day in early December. Anne Penman produced the first show with Patrick and has coordinated CBC's Food Bank Day ever since.
In the early nineties all three shows moved to the Pacific Center Mall to broadcast Food Bank Day in front of a live audience. The CBC Radio bureaus in Victoria, Prince Rupert, Prince George and Kelowna also joined in with special editions of their morning programs.
The addition of toll free pledge phones, all manned by CBC employees volunteering their time, caused the dollar amount of donations to climb remarkably. In 2008 CBC listeners donated $339,284.00 to food banks throughout British Columbia.
This year is the 23nd annual CBC British Columbia Food Bank Day. We are broadcasting live beginning at 5:30 a.m. from the newly renovated CBC Vancouver Broadcast Centre. And this year we are combining Food Bank Day with an Open House at our beautiful and newly renovated CBC Vancouver Broadcast Centre. Our doors open to the public at 8:00 a.m. through to 9:00 p.m. to tour our new facility, watch great live radio and TV - all to help raise money for B.C.'s Food Banks.
