Friday, December 6, 2013 is the 27th annual CBC British Columbia Food Bank Day. We are excited to celebrate the incredible and continuing generosity of our CBC audience and family. Millions of dollars have been raised over the years, and hundreds of thousands of British Columbians, who need the services of food banks, have benefitted from our annual event.
As it is our tradition, we are inviting the public to come to our Open House at the CBC Broadcast Centre in downtown Vancouver to join us behind the scenes and see how we make radio, television and digital programming.
Doors at CBC Vancouver's broadcast centre open at 5:30 a.m. with Rick Cluff and The Early Edition live in Studio 700. From 8 am to 6 pm you can tour CBC Vancouver's integrated newsroom and meet your favourite CBC on air personalities and reporters including Gloria Macarenko, Tony Parsons, Stephen Quinn and Sheryl MacKay. Some of our network personalities are also joining us including George Stroumboulopoulos, Yannick Bisson, Suhana Meharchand and many more.
New to the event this year is a special Canada Lives Here movie, Bo and Huckle Cat, photos with Santa and tours of the CBC Canada House in preparation for Sochi 2014.
All CBC B.C. radio local and regional shows are broadcasting special programs to help inspire you to donate. You can make a contribution to the Food Bank of your choice at the Open House, online anytime or call our pledge lines 1-866-226-4642 or 604-662-6470 on Friday December 6, 2013.
Be part of CBC British Columbia's 27th Annual Food Bank Day and Open House. Share your spirit.
