2011_CBC_OHFBD_OneSheet_B.jpgFriday, December 2, 2011 marks the 25th Anniversary of CBC/Radio-Canada's Food Bank Day at CBC Vancouver Broadcast Centre. We're inviting you to join us for a full day of fun including newsroom tours, live broadcasts and the opportunity to meet CBC personalities including Tony Parsons, Gloria Macarenko, Rick Cluff, Stephen Quinn, CBC's George Stroumboulopoulos and Hockey Night in Canada's Scott Russell.

Be part of the audience for special live broadcasts in Studio 700. The day starts off with Rick Cluff, host of The Early Edition, followed by a CBC Radio 3 show. Enjoy the special joint broadcasts of BC Almanac and North by Northwest, On The Coast and All Points West, as the shows continue the live experience throughout the day.  Special guests and performers include Richard Brodeur, Wally Buono, Hannah Georgas, Jill Barber, Randy Bachman and 54/40. The evening ends with CBC News Vancouver at 5, 5:30 and 6 pm live from the news set.

CBC/Radio-Canada is celebrating its 75th Anniversary as Canada's public broadcaster and the art of broadcasting! You are invited to join the celebration at CBC Prince George, CBC Victoria and CBC Kelowna for CBC/Radio-Canada's 75th Anniversary Open House on Saturday, Oct 1st.  This is your chance to meet your favourite on-air hosts and personalities, tour the studio, win prizes and learn about your local CBC station.

9 am - 1 pm at CBC Prince George on 890 Victoria Street

CBC Prince George is opening its doors to the public for a joint Open House with CBC Prince Rupert. The public can tour the studios and meet local hosts including Mark Forsythe, host of BC Almanac, Robert Doane and Carolina de Ryk, hosts of Daybreak North, Betsy Trumpener from CBC News and Pamela McCall, morning host of a new CBC Radio news segment.

Tour the studios, get behind the mic and read a radio script, meet the staff and on-air personalities, win prizes and much more. Meet Sheryl MacKay, host of CBC Radio's North by Northwest, Chris Walker, new morning host of Daybreak South, Rebecca Zandbergen, new afternoon host of brand new afternoon show Radio West as well as Daybreak South's Alya Ramadan.

Join us tomorrow, Friday, December 3 for one of the most exciting days of the year here for us at CBC Vancouver. It's CBC's Open House & Food Bank Day where we we open our doors iMeet CBC personalities at Open House Dayn support of food banks in B.C. and welcome you into our state-of-the-art broadcast centre.

This is the 24th year of the CBC British Columbia Food Bank Day where all our local and regional radio shows broadcast special programs to help inspire your generosity towards those who need the services that B.C. food banks provide. In tandem, we invite everyone to come to the CBC Broadcast Centre in downtown Vancouver on 700 Hamilton Street to see how we make radio, television and digital programming.

You can meet on-air personalities including Peter Mansbridge, George Stroumboulopoulos, Q's Jian Ghomeshi and your favourite local personalities including Tony Parsons and Gloria Macarenko. Tour the integrated newsroom and help your local food bank by making a donation. It's a day full of great entertainment, exciting activities and heartfelt generosity.

Food Bank Day kicks off 5:30 a.m. with CBC Radio One's The Early Edition. Our phone lines are open from 6:00 a.m to 9:00 p.m. to take your donation calls but we hope you can come downtown for a visit and donate in person.
