CBC Vancouver Broadcasts Live "In Your Neighbourhood"

You've seen us on TV. You've heard us on the radio. Now you can meet us in person! CBC News Vancouver and CBC Radio One are going to be "In Your Neighbourhood".


Join us as we broadcast live on location from your community and get a behind-the-scenes look at CBC Radio One's The Early Edition and On The Coast, and CBC News Vancouver. We want to hear about what is happening in your community and bring the news right to your door. Plus, you may even have the chance to meet some of your favourite CBC TV and radio personalities, including Tony Parsons, Gloria Macarenko, Johanna Wagstaffe, Shane Foxman, Rick Cluff, Stephen Quinn, and more!


Friday, November 1st - New Westminster (5:30am - 6:30pm)
Live on location at Shops at New West (located in the New Westminster SkyTrain Station at Columbia and 8th St.)

Start the day dark and early with some free coffee and snacks in company of Rick Cluff and The Early Edition team from 5:30 - 8:30am. New Westminster Mayor Wayne Wright and actress Colleen Winton will be there! Later in the day from 3:00pm - 6:00pm, don't miss Stephen Quinn with the On The Coast team, and enjoy the live soundtrack of indie rockers Hey Ocean! Guests include Police Chief Dave Jones and author JJ Lee. 

In addition to the broadcasts there will be entertainment and family fun throughout the day. The CBC prize wheel will be on site with live musical performances by Royal City Concert Band, Mixed Company Barbershop Quartet, and dancers from Dance Matrix.  


Friday, November 8th - North Vancouver (5:30am - 6:30pm)
Live on location at Lonsdale Quay
 
Start the long weekend early and join us at Lonsdale Quay on Friday, November 8!

Bring the family down for entertainment and activities throughout the day. Watch live broadcasts of CBC Radio One's The Early Edition and On The Coast, with special guests including Brent Richter of the North Shore News and Maria Spitale-Leisk of the North Shore Outlook, the CEO of Seaspan Jonathan Whitworth,  Leigh Stratton of Bridge Brewing and Martin Ebadi of Green Leaf Brewing. 

And look for CBC News Vancouver's Renee FilipponeJohanna Wagstaffe and Shane Foxman live on location that evening. 

Our CBC Ambassadors will also be there for you to try your luck with our CBC Prize Wheel. Plus, catch performances by the dancers from AMED Dance Academy and the North Shore Academy of Dancing as well as a live musical performances from singer/songwriter Barney Bentall


Friday, November 15th - Coquitlam (5:30am - 6:30pm)
Live on location at Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex

Our In Your Neighbourhood series continues with CBC Radio One's The Early Edition and On The Coast broadcasting live on location. They are featuring local stories and special guests including Mayor Richard Stewart, Coquitlam Express Rookie of the Year Adam Rockwood and Filipino Pop Star Joey Albert. 

Our CBC Prize Wheel will be back on site, giving you a chance to win some great prizes! Plus, join us for live entertainment in the afternoon, including a jazz ensemble and girls' choir from Centennial Secondary and a live musical performance by the Dogwood Songsters. 

You might even catch CBC News Vancouver's Renee Filippone, Johanna Wagstaffe and Shane Foxman as they bring you the news right from your door!


Friday, November 22nd - Surrey (5:30am - 6:30pm)
Live on location at SFU Surrey Campus

The last In Your Neighbourhood broadcast of 2013 is happening in the atrium of SFU's Surrey Campus. Join us for live broadcasts of CBC Radio One's The Early Edition and On The Coast, featuring local stories and special guests including Chief Superintendent Bill Fordy with the Surrey RCMP, Central City Brewing Brewmaster Gary Lohin, SFU Chemistry Professor Uwe Kreis, and Chef Andrew George.

This week's entertainment is provided by local folk heavyweights, The Sumner Brothers, as well as Indo-folk-rock artist Ranj Singh. There also be live musical performances by members of the award-winning SFU Pipe Band and talented musician Jenni Love. Plus, this is the last chance during our special series for you to win great prizes with our CBC Prize Wheel. 

CBC News Vancouver with hosts Gloria Macarenko and Tony Parsons will feature CBC weekend host Renee Filippone, Johanna Wagstaffe and Shane Foxman on location.
