It's that time of year! It's cold and dark outside so cozy up with special CBC radio, television, and music programming all month long.

December 7
Kicking off the festivities is our annual Food Bank Day. Tune in to CBC Radio One across BC and CBC News Vancouver for special programming all day long..


December 17
You helped us decide on the lyrics, and now you'll be able to listen to On The Coast's "A Very Vancouver Christmas" song. CBC's Jon Siddall is writing the holiday tunes and Dan Mangan will be lending his voice. You'll be able to listen to the song on CBC Music starting on December 18. 


December 25
2PM: Rex Murphy hosts "Christmas and Classics". An amateur pianist and informed music lover, Rex has until now kept his passion for music under wraps. However, this holiday season, Rex will share an hour of Christmas music, stories, and classics from his own collection. 

10 PM: Feliz Navidad" is a one hour Christmas special hosted by Tom Landa featuring seasonal music with a Latin feel from Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Spain and Canada, stitched together with engaging stories from countries where Christmas is celebrated with great enthusiasm.


December 26
4 - 5 PM: On The Coast parenting columnist Michelle Eliot explores what parents can learn about connecting with their kids in the wake of the Amanda Todd tragedy.

 
January 1, 2013
6 - 9 AM: Join On The Coast's Matthew Lazin-Ryder as he hosts the first morning show of the year, focusing on the events and trends that are sure to make headlines in 2013.



Some of your favourite CBC shows are getting in the spirit this season. Kicking off the festivities is a Dragons' Den Holiday Special on December 5, followed by an entire week of holiday episodes on Steven and Chris beginning December 10. On December 11 you can also watch the annual one-hour holiday special from 22 Minutes

You can get your fill of holiday films on CBC this winter. Check out the special two-hour movie A Heartland Christmas. Plus, catch all your favourite classics including Home Alone, A Christmas Story, Rudolph and more.
