CBC Stars Light Up Grand Opening of Kamloops Bureau

Kamloops residents will hear CBC's new morning show Daybreak Kamloops on air for the first time on October 9th at 6 am. As part of the launch of the new CBC Radio One current 
affairs show, a number of CBC celebrities will join Daybreak Kamloops host Shelley Joyce 
and the rest of the CBC team for a public open house and a week of special programming and live events.

Activities kick off on Tuesday, October 9th with a public open house at the CBC bureau at 218 Victoria Street from 6 am - 2 pm. The public has the opportunity to meet Bob McDonald, host of CBC Radio One's Quirks & Quarks; Graham Wardle, star of CBC television's Heartland; and Mark Forsythe, host of BC Almanac. Special performances by Andrew Allen and Tiller's Folly.

October 9
6 - 8:30 am: Live broadcast of the first Daybreak Kamloops morning show with host Shelley Joyce and news anchor Doug Herbert.
6 - 10 am: Live music by Andrew Allen
8:45 am: Official opening with Johnny Michel, managing director of CBC British Columbia and proclamation by Mayor Peter Milobar. 
Noon - 1 pm: Live broadcast of BC Almanac with Mark Forsythe.
10 am - 2 pm: Live music by Tiller's Folly



October 13
6 - 9 am: Live broadcast of CBC Radio One's North by Northwest with host Sheryl MacKay at Art We Are CafĂ© at 246 Victoria Street with guests Barney Bentall and Dustin Bentall with multi-instrumentalist Eric Reed. Entrance to this free event is first come, first seated.


October 16
7:30 pm (doors at 6:30 pm): Live concert recording for CBC Radio One's jazz show Hot Air with host Margaret Gallagher at The Parkside Lounge at the Interior Savings Centre, 300 Lorne Street. The concert opens with hometown favourites, the Anita Eccleston Quintet and closes with Victoria's funky, new jazz outfit The HiFi. Entrance to this free event is by reservation.
