The Invisible Hand - Special 10 week series on CBC Radio One beginning June 27th at 9:30am.
Virtually every choice we make in life is an economic choice. We have limited time, money and information. Every day, we parcel out these scarce resources in a never-ending series of choices.
Philosopher Adam Smith theorized that if people all made those choices with their own economic self-interest in mind, then a collective force would guide the marketplace to benefit the common good. This force... is the invisible hand.
The Invisible Hand is nothing like Economics 101 with dusty brittle theories. It's all about the murky gutsy interplay of human beings and how their individual behaviours adding up to a butterfly effect; silently but irrevocably altering the course of world affairs.
Guiding you on this radio journey is host Matthew Lazin-Ryder, a familiar voice from CBC Radio One's On the Coast.
The Invisible Hand airs on Wednesday's on CBC Radio One from June 27th - August 29th at 9:30am and Saturdays at 11:30am.
The CBC Community Calendar is temporarily suspended and submissions will not be accepted for the time being.
