President's Distinguished Community Leadership Award - Martha Lou Henley, C.M.
Martha Lou Henley is a longtime benefactor of the arts community in Vancouver.
A member of the prominent Southam family that is known widely for its philanthropy, she has carried on this tradition by giving generously of both her time and money to over 77 organizations. Mostly known for her support of music, particularly the opera, she has also contributed to causes as diverse as health, community welfare and concerns that benefit children. The organizations she supports include the Vancouver Opera, Vancouver Recital Society, Vancouver Symphony, musica intima, Callanish Healing Retreats, Save the Children Fund, Salvation Army, Canadian Diabetes Association and Vancouver Aquarium. She was recently invested as a Member of the Order of Canada in May 2011.Join us to honour Martha Lou Henley at a ticketed dinner reception:
