News Day in B.C. student auditions - Auditions are this weekend! 
More than 500 students attended the journalism workshops January 21 and 22 and 350 of those students have registered for the auditions. They will pitch their best story ideas in the hopes of securing one of 30 coveted spots as a News Day in B.C. student reporter for CBC Vancouver or the Vancouver Sun. Plus, each of the 30 finalists will receive a $1000 scholarship towards post-secondary studies courtesy of Sylvan Learning upon completion of the News Day program.

About News Day in B.C. - CBC and Vancouver Sun journalists mentor local high school students and help them bring their story ideas into the real world of journalism. Topics are chosen by students and reflect what matters to them and their generation.

News Day in B.C. is March 29. Stories will be heard on CBC Radio's The Early Edition, On The Coast, B.C. Almanac, North by Northwest seen on CBC News Vancouver at 5, 5:30 and 6, appear online at throughout the day and in The Vancouver Sun. On radio and tv, students will co-host segments, as well as report on sports and weather.
