Remembrance Day on CBC Radio One: Lest we forget

Remembrance Day  Image.JPGOn November 11, tune into CBC Radio One as shows across British Columbia broadcast special programs to honour Canadians who have served and continue to serve this country. 

Join host Rick Cluff and The Early Edition team for their special "The Act of Remembrance". The focus will be how and why we commemorate November 11th. Hear stories from people who have served, those still on active duty, and those who have never seen combat, and how the occasion affects them. Discover why people chose different ways to mark the occasion, some through musical celebration and some through quiet contemplation. The Early Edition airs 5:30 - 8:30 am.

At 11 am join CBC Radio One listeners in BC take part in the moment of silence and remembrance.

Stay tuned in to BC Almanac as host Mark Forsythe features conversations from the "Highway of Heroes on Highway One". Mark will speak to veterans in Metro Vancouver about their experiences. The show runs noon - 1 pm and includes calls from listeners.

Starting at 3 pm, On The Coast with Stephen Quinn looks at the changing face of veterans the issues they face today. The show will explore the questions of what the word veteran means in 2011 including the diversity of experiences from young and old veterans from different generations. 

CBC Radio One can be heard on 88.1 FM and 690 Am in Metro Vancouver.
