November 25, 2011 - December 2 marks the 25th anniversary of CBC/Radio-Canada's Food Bank Day. To commemorate, the Prince George and Prince Rupert teams of Daybreak will produce the show from the Prince George Food Bank and Salvation Army Church at 777 Ospika Boulevard South from 6 - 8:30 am.
A familiar voice in northern BC, Betsy Trumpener will share hosting duties with Carolina de Ryk who will broadcast from Prince Rupert. The public is invited to attend the event which will include lively interviews and performances by the Bel Canto Children's Choir.
"This is a very special year for us as we mark 25 years of raising funds for food banks in the province," says Johnny Michel, managing director of CBC British Columbia. "The need continues to grow and we are pleased to be able to broadcast Daybreak North in such a meaningful location in the community."
The public is encouraged to come down, make a cash or food donation and enjoy some light refreshments while meeting the CBC team in Prince George.
