This week, September 5-9th, 2011, CBC Vancouver features special programming to mark the 10th Anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the U.S. We will spend the week hearing from those whose lives were changed by 9/11 and hear how those attacks shook the air industry and continues to do so today.

Security 9/11: The New Normal explores changes in the experience of air travel since 9/11 and points to where security is headed next by revealing a special pilot project recently completed at YVR.  A lineup of feature topics for the 9/11 Anniversary is also available on a special webiste with interactive features including web polls to coincide with content and a security map of YVR.
On Friday Sept 9: The Early Edition will broadcast live from YVR to commemorate the events of 9/11 and, for the first time, tell the story of what unfolded that day behind the scenes at YVR as all air traffic in North America was grounded for the first and only time.

CBC News Network will also feature 9/11 anniversary coverage with special features and programs that explore the continuing impacts of the fateful day on Canadians and on people around the world. On September 11th, 2011, CBC News Network and CBCNews.ca will broadcast the commemoration ceremony from New York City live .
