To mark its 75th anniversary, Radio-Canada is organizing a public birthday bash filled with art, music and fun for all.  On Saturday, October 1 at 6 p.m., Radio-Canada invites you to the Vancouver Broadcast Centre at 700 Hamilton Street for a festive evening featuring an art exhibit, concert and dance party.

Inspired by the theme "Un monde mediatis√©" ("A Media-Frenzied World"), 21 West Coast artists teamed up to create seven original works using the Exquisite Corpse approach invented by the Surrealists of the 1920s. The art will be sold off in a silent auction open to all bidders, with proceeds going to the Red Cross's Horn of Africa Drought Appeal.

CBC Radio 2 Canada Live and CBC Radio 3 featured Canada's Favourite Independent Musician, Dan Mangan at CBC Vancouver over the weekend.  Dan Mangan has a new album to share with the world - Oh Fortune, is its name. In a world teeming with music, Dan's new record matters - it stands out from the crowd.  The Vancouver musician has new songs to share which he says are deeper and darker than he's ever done before.  Just ten days before the album's release, Dan brought 11 musicians along with him to CBC Vancouver's Studio 40.  They recreated the album in its entirety, live in concert - track by track.  It was magic.
