CBC NEWS VANCOUVER IN LANGLEY AND FORT LANGLEY SEPTEMBER 20


September 20, 2010 - As part of a commitment to connecting with the community, the CBC News Vancouver team will be speaking at the Langley Fine Arts School (9096 Trattle Street, Langley, BC) from 1:30 - 2:30 pm today.

Tony Parsons, Gloria Macarenko and Shane Foxman will be speaking to an assembly of grade 11 and 12 students about broadcasting and journalism. Claire Martin will be speaking to students in the grade 8 and 9 science program about the environment and weather.

Following the speaking engagement, the team will be at the Fort Langley Heritage CN Station (9226 Glover Road, Fort Langley, BC) for a live broadcast of CBC News Vancouver at 5, 5:30 and 6 pm. The broadcast will be preceded by a performance by the Langley Ukulele Ensemble at 4 pm.
