Chris Carter joins CBC Vancouver as a business analyst

September 8, 2010 - CBC British Columbia announced today the addition of Chris Carter to the CBC Vancouver team. Carter will provide live business and financial reports during CBC Radio One's top-rated morning show, The Early Edition, beginning September 13 as well as analysis for CBC News Vancouver.


Carter is a veteran in the investment and wealth management sector, columnist and broadcaster. He brings a strong local perspective to financial and business stories.


"Chris is a natural fit to The Early Edition team," says Johnny Michel, Managing Director, CBC British Columbia. "Listeners have told us they want to hear more business and financial reports from an expert who understands global markets and the impact felt locally."


The Early Edition with host Rick Cluff, offers listeners in-depth stories, breaking news, traffic and weather each weekday. Carter's business reports will focus on local, national and international business news, as well as a review of the stock market and currencies and will be heard at 6:25, 7:25 and 8:25 am.


Chris began his financial career in 1993 and holds the Professional Wealth Management designations from both the Canadian Securities Institute and the internationally recognized Investment Management Consultants Association.  He is a graduate of BCIT and IMCA Certified Investment Management Analyst Program as offered through the Wharton School. He added the role of broadcaster to his career in 1997 and also writes and produces The Weekly Market Recap newsletter.


He is currently Associate Director, Wealth Management and Portfolio Manager for The Carter Group at ScotiaMcLeod.
