Hundreds of Vancouver's FIFA World Cup fans gathered on Granville Street this morning to watch the Netherlands take on Uruguay. Hosted by CBC Vancouver, City of Vancouver, and Downtown Vancouver BIA, fan enthusiasm poured onto the street like the sunshine as Dutch fans hollered and cheered their team on to a 3-2 victory. Everyone who attended expressed their delight in having a vibrant communal space reminiscent of that during the 2010 Winter Olympics.

If you missed the outdoor viewing party today, the giant TV screen, CBC Vancouver's much-loved prize wheel, and event sponsor Rogers will be back in full force tomorrow (July 7) and every World Cup game including the final match to help us all "Rediscover Granville". We hope to see you there!
