Playing for five NHL teams and coming from a family of professional hockey players, Jason Strudwick’s natural thrive for competition will make him a promising partner in season four of Battle of the Blades. Drafted in the 3rd round, 63rd overall, Jason was recruited by the New York Islanders in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. Before joining the professional league, he started his career with the Kamloops Blazers where he assisted the team in winning two Memorial Cups. After one year with the Islanders, he was traded to the Vancouver Canucks and became quite familiar with the confinements of the penalty box. Once earning himself a total of 367 penalty minutes, he signed as a free agent with the Chicago Blackhawks. Making a comeback after the 2005-2006 NHL lockout, Jason joined the New York Rangers and stayed with the team throughout the season. In the summer of 2008, he signed with the Edmonton Oilers on a one-year contract and continued to extend his time as a free agent until 2011.
Jason is now working as an evening talk show host on The Team 1260 in Edmonton, AB, and spends his time on family outings with his loving wife and three children.
