Tessa Bonhomme, here's a new trophy to add to your collection.
The Olympic champion made history on Monday night as she became the first female hockey player to win Battle of the Blades.
Bonhomme and her skating partner, Olympic and World figure skating champion David Pelletier, were named this year's winners following a spectacular finale that acknowledged the 11 charities supported by this year's Battle of the Blades cast.
Battle of the Blades donated a total of $290,000 to charities throughout the eight-week series. With the win, Bonhomme and Pelletier each picked up $50,000 for their chosen organizations; Bonhomme skated on behalf of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation while Pelletier competed for the Ronald McDonald House of Southern Alberta.
Finishing second and earning $35,000 for Do It For Daron (D.I.F.D.) were ice dancers Marie-France Dubrueil and Bryan Berard.
Tanith Belbin and Boyd Devereaux finished third. The second ice dancing pair to qualify for the finale, Belbin and Devreaux each raised $15,000 for their charities: The Montreal Neurological Institute and Epilepsy Huron-Perth-Bruce, respectively.
The final three pairs had each skated two programs during Sunday's performance show. The first was a brand new, never-before-seen performance. The second, a favourite from earlier in the season. Unlike the first seven weeks, the judging panel gave no scores during the final show. Instead, the results were left entirely up to Canadians voting at home.
And now, a hearty THANK YOU to the fans who made the third season of Battle of the Blades great this year. We couldn't have done it without you.
A second well-deserved "thanks" to the eight pairs that put everything they had into this year's competition:
