Hello everyone!
Before I begin, I want to thank you all so so much for voting for us last Sunday! It's an incredible feeling to hear the words "you are safe" on Monday and know that whatever you did on Sunday made a connection with you, the audience. THANK YOU! I am happy to continue our journey together towards bringing a larger donation to the Canadian Cancer Society!
It's a late morning for me and I am fully enjoying it! Today we leave hotel for practice at 1:30pm and we are back at 5pm. Very light day compare to normal, here is the example of one of our days this week:
11am - hotel pick up
11:30 - 12:30 - off ice training
12:30 - 2:00 - on ice
2:15 - 3:15 - Violetta hair & makeup
3:15 - 3:30 - Cale hair & makeup (notice the time difference... takes them 3 times longer to make me look decent....)
3:15 - 3:45 - Violetta B-roll interview
3:45 - 4:15 - Cale B-roll interview
4:45 - 5:45 - off ice training
5:45 - 7:15 - on ice
8:00pm - back to the hotel
So only one ice session today and I am looking forward to it! The choreography of this week's routine is complete. I like it a lot and will be going through it with pleasure.
We had a good training week overall with one little road bump, when I had to force a day off onto everyone in our team.
I couldn't fit into my skate on Tuesday... my heel is recovering fast, by the way.
Having Tuesday off worked to our advantage. We all had a very good rest and then a very enjoyable and productive Wednesday. I was glad to see Cale stepping on the ice and being rested, happy and playful!
A bit about this week's routine. Besides the high lifts, we have two very hard figure skating moves that require a lot of skill from the boy's side. One asks for great leg strength and the other move will not be possible without an edge control.
Cale stepped up to the challenge and made it possible for us to put them into the program - I hope you will like it!
Well, I still have couple hours before I leave for the ice rink. I think it's time to use the hotel kitchen and see if I can still remember how to make russian beet soup (Borsht).
