Hello everybody!
Monday was a hard day.
It is very difficult to express the emotions of that day. I still feel very frazzled and I am writing now to calm myself down.
I must say right away - I am sooooo proud of Cale. He is a true competitor! Starting early in the morning, Cale was very strong.
This was his SMS to me: "I had a really good sleep and look forward to tonight! Let's have fun and do our best, have a great morning V!"
This made my day.
During the morning practice we worked on our routine and tried to incorporate the judges' comments from Sunday night. Even though Sunday's skate felt really good, Monday's felt even better. As soon as we finished Cale and I both sensed it.
Everything that came after was a blur to me... Standing together with Marcy and Todd with Ron in the front of the judges was hard.
Some how I missed the fact that judges' paddles said the names of the eliminated pair. Last year was different, so when I saw three "Marcy and Todd" paddles, my head started to spin and I was thinking, "that was it, done, going home."
Then I looked at Cale and was struck by how well he was taking it. Then I think Ron's words came back to my head and I asked Cale if we were safe. He said YES!
Then it was blank, blank, blank in my head again, but this time I think a happy blank.
Now that I am getting myself back I feel how very sad I am that Marcy and Todd have to go. Marcy is a good friend and I was happy to see how much Todd was enjoying being on the ice with her.
I really want to thank Cale's family Gena, Spencer and my husband Pete for being there for us on Monday! They were nervous, but strong. And thanks to everyone else who gave us support and believed in us!
Whew..... tough day...
