Montreal-born Olympian, Marie-France was a true fan favourite during the first season of Battle of the Blades when she skated into the hearts of viewers with elegant, heartfelt performances with partner Stephane Richer.
Last year, Marie-France took some time off to have her first child, a daughter named Billie-Rose, and to the fans' delight, she has decided to return for Season 3. She will undoubtedly bring her trademark grace and fluidity to her performances each week.
A five-time Canadian Ice Dance Champion (1999, 2003-2006) with skating partner and husband Patrice Lauzon, she is a driven and positive performer who lives by the mantra of 'no regrets.' She and Patrice paired up in 1995 and quickly became a successful ice dance team to be reckoned with on the world stage. Two-time Olympians, Marie-France and Patrice were forced to withdraw from the 2006 Olympics after a dramatic fall on a lift but quickly regained momentum to go on to win Silver Medals at the World Championships in both 2006 and 2007. The beloved couple turned pro in 2008 and toured with Stars on Ice for several years.
Currently, they have a skating school in Montreal where they coach seven competitive teams and develop young, talented ice dancers for the Quebec Skating Federation. Marie-France was a skating analyst for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver for French television network RDS.
