Babel is holding a Best Borrowed Word contest. We're looking for the best new word from a foreign language that Canadian English is missing.
Zarqa Nawaz, creator of Little Mosque on the Prairie, is playing along with us. Her pick is "zabardast", which is a Persian word meaning someone who has the upper hand, but is now used by many in the South Asian community to mean amazing, or the ultimate in coolness.
