Mary Jane Lamond and Wendy MacIsaac on Atlantic Airwaves

MJ and Wendy jpeg.jpgLong time friends and musical collaborators Gaelic singer Mary Jane Lamond and fiddler Wendy MacIsaac are featured on Airwaves this week. After the release of their CD titled 'Seinn', Mary Jane and Wendy presented concerts around the world and right here at home as well. Atlantic Airwaves caught up with them at the Chester Playhouse. Mary Jane and Wendy perform with musicians Cathy Porter and Seph Peters for this show. Tune in Saturday at 10 a.m. on CBC Radio 2 and at 5 past 5 in the afternoon on CBC Radio 1.

Acadian Celtic Crossroads intersects with Atlantic Airwaves

david greely.jpgLouisiana fiddler David Greely joins Cape Breton musicians Colin Grant and Joel Chiasson along with Dirk Powell from the US and Le Bruit Court Dans La Ville from Quebec as they explore the alignment and interplay of Acadian, Cajun, Scottish, Irish and French music. This concert is from the 2013 Celtic Colours International Festival and CBC was there to capture it. Tune in Saturday on CBC Radio 2 and at 5:05 p.m. on CBC Radio 1 to be transported to all these places through music.

The Boys and Their Ballads in Concert

This is a concert from the 2013 Celtic Colours International Festival that features singers and songwriters who share a love of words, music and stories. The lineup includes Lennie Gallant, Buddy MacDonald, Cyril MacPhee, Roger Stone, Goiridh Domhnallach (Jeff MacDonald) along with his son Patrick. Tune in Saturday morning at 10 on CBC Radio 2 and at 5 past 5 in the afternoon on CBC Radio 1 for some of the best music made in the Maritimes.

Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac partner up with drummer/lap steel guitar player Christine Bougie for this concert recorded at the DeCoste Centre in Pictou, Nova Scotia. Tune in Saturday at 10 a.m. on CBC Radio 2 and at 5 past 5 in the afternoon on CBC Radio 1 for some of the best music made in Atlantic Canada.
