An Australian inventor creates a texting symbol for the word 'the'


'The' is the most commonly used word in the English language, and so Australian inventor, Paul Mathis, believes 'the' should have its own symbol for keyboarding and texting -- what's more, Mr Mathis has designed one.

To help integrate the symbol into everyday use, Mr Mathis has created an app for handheld devices that incorporates his new 'The' symbol into the 'QWERTY' keyboard.
