A month before his death from cancer last year at 47, Canadian writer David Rakoff finished his final book. Written entirely in rhyme, it's called "Love, Dishonor, Marry, Die, Cherish, Perish -- a Novel By...David Rakoff".

Mr. Rakoff wasn't just a brilliant essayist and poet. He was also a brilliant storyteller. And he demonstrated that skill repeatedly on the the radio program "This American Life".

Ira Glass is the show's host and executive producer.
