Ahmad Heidar (alias)
In recent days, the pro-government "Syrian Electronic Army" has hacked into the accounts of major news outlets, including The Guardian, the BBC and NPR. Last week, it caused a $200,000,000 loss in the Dow Jones by accessing the Associated Press's Twitter account, and reporting that President Obama had been injured by a bomb at the White House. Ahmad Heidar is a software engineer who fled Syria after the regime tried to recruit him into the Electronic Army.
