The Waldorf Astoria: bring back their stuff, no questions asked.
Most of us have done it - put our ethics in check and snagged a souvenir after a particularly memorable stay at a terrific hotel or inn. We have risked our dignity sneaking out a bathrobe, a towel, a coffee cup - hearts thumping as we stand in front of the clerk at checkout, knowing that the incriminating goods are right there, tucked into our bag.
Perhaps later, our conscience has nagged at us, asking us why? Why did we forsake our moral code for a mere teaspoon? Alas, so often, there is no turning back.
Luckily, the Waldorf-Astoria is offering an amnesty to those who may have inadvertently wandered off with items.
Matt Zolbe is the man behind this idea. We reached him at the Waldorf-Astoria on Park Avenue in New York.
