Jean Charest stepped down as leader of the Quebec Liberal Party on Tuesday. The election saw his party surrender power to Pauline Marois' PQ and him surrender his own seat in the riding of Sherbrooke.
His retirement marks the end of a long and storied public career that spanned nearly 3 decades.
