Jenna Butler's new collection of poems is called Wells, and is dedicated to her late grandmother, who suffered from senile dementia. The poems are about memories: trying to hold onto them -- and reinventing them. The poet attempts to restore the words and experiences her grandmother is gradually losing.
This is Jenna Butler, reading a passage addressed to her grandmother. Ms. Butler is based in Edmonton, where she teaches creative writing at Grant MacEwan University.
