Randy Starkman spent his career chronicling the lives of others, and paying tribute to their achievements. Today, those who loved and admired him gathered to pay tribute to him.
Randy Starkman wrote about amateur sports for The Toronto Star for nearly 25 years. He died suddenly at the age of 51 earlier this week, after being hospitalized with pneumonia.
On Thursday, his wife, CBC Radio host Mary Hynes, and his daughter, Ella, were joined by family, friends and scores of athletes at his funeral in Toronto. Marnie McBean was one of many former Olympians in attendance. We reached her after the service.
