Interview With Nurse Karen Graham In Tripoli
Karen Graham is a British nurse working in Tripoli. The hospital where she works is just metres away from the fighting taking place in the Libyan capital.
Listener Steven Potter from Toronto sent us this email in response to our interview with Karen Graham on August 24th, 2011:
"Thank you so much for the wonderful interview with British nurse Karen Graham.
I'm often amazed at how you're able to connect with people at all corners of the globe and engage in a friendly chat, as if it were taking place across the back yard fence.
The chat with Karen was especially amazing, given the sound of her sincere, calm voice, contrasted against the background of sporadic machine gun fire. What an incredible person. She's there, she says, because it's "her job" to help the wounded, regardless of their political affiliation.
In a conflict so full of lies, deceit, deception and inconceivable suffering, her selflessness and dedication stands out like as a beacon of hope. Thank you so much for sharing her voice with the world."
