Highlights Include:

Part One:

* Environment Report Card. Scott Vaughan, Canada's environment commissioner, says Ottawa is failing to fulfill its promises to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
* Science Student Winner. 16-year-old Janelle Tam won top national honours today in the 2012 Sanofi BioGENEius Challenge Canada for developing an anti-oxidant compound from tree pulp.

Part Two:

* Maurice Sendak. The author best know for his 1963 children's book, "Where the Wild Things Are" has died. We revisit some of the magic he created.
* Alone and in limbo for ten painful years: A refugee from Burma is finally granted permanent status in Canada.

Part Three:

* Jeff Rubin. The author and economist joins Carol in studio for a feature discussion about his new book "The End of Growth."
