Like everyone else, I snap hundreds of millions of pictures with my cell phone, thinking that they will serve as a great reminder of a beautiful autumn walk, or my dog in a pair of my cycling shorts. Then I immediately forget about them, until six months later when there's not enough room in my phone's memory for me to store a picture of my dog wearing a pair of my shoes. Then I empty my photo roll and start over.
That's how I came across these shots that I grabbed during my first nervous weeks on As It Happens.
I'll send along the picture of my dog in the penny loafers at a later date.![]()
In my first couple of weeks on the show, we had Mr. Mansbridge (aka: The Big Guy) come down and give us a hand with a fun little piece about a pigeon mule. Kinda hard to explain, but he was a good sport.
To our immediate right, we see the one and only Carol Off at work. I'm not one hundred per cent positive, but I believe that she is discussing the plight of our good friend Ralph the Pelican, who was hanging out in Dartmouth, NS, for a while.
This shot of me at my microphone, looking either smug or dazed, I cannot explain. It is obviously a self portrait. Perhaps my intention was to send it to my mom. ![]()
Here's a shot of the AIH studio:
Finally - a shot of past glory: Barbara Frum and Allan Maitland. This is s photo of a poster which hangs in the atrium here in Toronto.
Anyhow, enjoy the pics. I'll likely have more in six months time when I finally convince my wife to let the dog put on her skinny jeans.
