All we have are individual examples of beautiful and powerful paintings and violins that serve to inspire and compel... Beauty lies in the uniqueness and individuality of these singular expressions of a universal theme."

� Self-taught, through trial-and-error and observation; books and conversation.

� instruments exhibited at the Mary Black Gallery, Halifax NS; Centre Bras D'or Festival of the Arts, Cape Breton NS; University College of Cape Breton, Cape Breton NS
� over 300 instruments built; including classical and steel-stringed guitars, violins, violas, 'cellos, harps, historical reproductions, and others
� lectures and demonstration workshops given at the Gaelic College, St.Ann's NS; Technical College, Sydney NS
� music compositions published in several traditional music collections and commercially recorded by many artists including Jerry Holland, Cherish the Ladies and the Barra MacNeils
