One of Halifax's finest Flamenco groups, Compania Azul, premieres their new show this weekend

The Halifax Flamenco group " Compania Azul " is presenting a new show on Saturday, June 23rd at 8pm.

Its happening in the Sir James Dunn Theatre at the Dal Arts Centre.

The program will feature new Flamenco works that were created by members of the group.

The Nova Scotian company plans to take their new show to Western Canada.

They'll be performing with the Victoria Symphony Orchestra in November and the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra in January of next year.

Tickets for the Halifax show are $ 23.00 in advance, $ 25.00 at the door.

Jamie Gatti's band " Riot Squad " is having a CD release party at Stayners Wharf on Thursday night

Jamie Gatti is a bass player, composer and arranger.

A few years ago, Gatti and some of his close musical friends formed a group called " The Riot Squad ".

The jazz funk band from Halifax is releasing its first CD on Thursday night at 9 at Stayners Wharf.

The " Booty Boppin' Brass Band " is going on tour

The " Booty Boopin' Brass Band " is  Halifax sextet that features some of the city's top musicians.

They've been playing at Stayners Wharf on Saturday afternoons getting great revie4s for their high-energy shows.

Now, they're going on tour, making stops in Truro, Pictou, Chester and Yarmouth.
