Actors Bret McKenzie, left, and Jemaine Clement, write both script and songs for Flight Of The Conchords, as well as acting in the series. (Dave Allocca/StarPix/Associated Press)Jemaine Clement said he's undecided whether he wants to create a third season of his offbeat HBO comedy Flight of the Conchords.
Clement, who writes the script and the songs and stars in the series with Bret McKenzie, told Reuters it's too much work.
The comedy, in which Clement and McKenzie play New Zealand bandmates who move to New York to try to make it in the music business, has developed a cult following.
Clement said he, McKenzie and series director James Bobin will discuss the future of the show and decide this month whether to produce a third season.
Clement made noises about not wanting to continue at the end of the first season, but went ahead.
Flight of the Conchords earned an Emmy nomination in its second season, which screened in the U.S. this spring.
HBO spokeswoman Nancy Lesser said the network wants to continue with the show, but the decision is up to the New Zealand duo.
Clement recently made the transition to movies with a role in Gentleman Broncos, from Napoleon Dynamite writer and director Jared Hess. The movie begins in commercial release on Friday.
