The U.S. rock band Bon Jovi will play Regina and other Canadian cities next year.

The group will be performing at Mosaic Stadium on July 28, concert officials announced Thursday.

Ticket prices and availability haven't been released yet, although it's expected they'll go on sale before Christmas.

The group, fronted by Jon Bon Jovi and known for hits like Living on a Prayer, will also visit:

  • Montreal on March 19.
  • Edmonton on July 15.
  • Winnipeg on July 17.
  • Toronto on July 20.

Regina is the smallest Canada city on the itinerary.

Regina Mayor Pat Fiacco was trumpeting the news, saying concerts like next year's as well as this summer's AC/DC show pay economic dividends for the city.

"Just based on the AC/DC show, there's over $10 million of spinoffs based on hotel stays, based on restaurants and based on merchandise that is sold at the stadium itself, based on the number of jobs it creates, both full time and part time," Fiacco said.
