Keith Urban reportedly out of rehab

Last Updated: Monday, December 4, 2006 | 5:34 PM ET

Country singer Keith Urban has reportedly left the treatment centre in Palm Springs, Calif., where he was being treated for alcohol abuse.

The entertainment magazine US Weekly reports Urban is back in Los Angeles with his wife, actress Nicole Kidman, after six weeks of treatment. The couple were spotted having brunch in Los Angeles on Sunday.

A representative for Urban said the singer was still "undergoing treatment," implying he might be doing it on an outpatient basis.

Urban, who married Kidman in Sydney in June, checked himself into the Betty Ford Center Oct. 19. The 39-year-old, who was raised in Australia, had previously sought treatment for drug and alcohol abuse in 1998.

"One can never let one's guard down on recovery, and I'm afraid that I have," said Urban in a statement released in October.

After the nuptials in Australia, Kidman and Urban moved to Nashville, where Urban records. Kidman was previously married to actor Tom Cruise and shares custody of their two adopted children.

Urban won a Grammy this year for best male country vocalist for You'll Think of Me and was named top male vocalist for the second year in a row by the Academy of Country Music.

His new CD, Love, Pain, & the whole crazy thing, was released Nov. 7.
