The show, which has been a huge hit on Broadway, closes on June 12. But in an interview with Daily Variety gossip columnist Army Archerd, the actor said he would like to take 700 Sundays on the road before retiring it.
Among the cities Crystal wants to visit are Toronto, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. He is also mulling the idea of a run on London's West End.
"The best work I've ever done in my life has been 700 Sundays," he said backstage at Sunday's Tony Award ceremony. "It's reconnected me with myself and reminded me of what I do best, which is performing in front of people."

Crystal is perhaps best known for hosting the Academy Awards. A former Saturday Night Live cast member, he has also had roles in films like When Harry Met Sally and City Slickers.
700 Sundays, which details his younger years growing up in Manhattan, has been something of a return to form for the comedian. It outsold many other Broadway plays last year, setting a sales record for a solo show in the process.

The title refers to the number of Sundays Crystal figures he got to spend with his hard-working father, who died when the younger Crystal was 15 years old.
The show has also received critical acclaim, and on Sunday it took the Tony for best special theatrical event.
In typical fashion, Crystal used the opportunity to inspire laughs. "I have an announcement: I, too, am head over heels in love with Katie Holmes," he quipped.
The line was a reference to the high-profile relationship between the 26-year-old actress and Tom Cruise, which many suspect is being staged to garner publicity.
Crystal is also planning a return to the big screen in Have a Nice Day, in which he will play a messenger from God who comes to take the U.S. president to heaven.
"We bargain for time," Crystal explained to Archerd, saying the picture will be "funny – yet about priorities."
