Beverly Hills, Calif. - The trial of Winona Ryder was postponed Monday after the Oscar-nominated actress apparently suffered a broken arm while pushing through a crowd of reporters.
Following a lunch break at Monday's hearing, Ryder was attempting to re-enter the courthouse when a cameraman fell on her after colliding with a sheriff's deputy.
She later left the courthouse with her right arm bandaged. Her lawyer said the arm was broken.
Ryder, 30, is accused of stealing $4,800 US worth of items from a Saks Fifth Avenue store on Dec. 12. Police said she had in her possession the painkiller Oxycodone without a prescription. She was charged with one count each of grand theft, burglary, vandalism and possession of a controlled substance. She is free on $20,000 US bail.
The actress was nominated for Oscars for 1993's The Age of Innocence and 1994's Little Women .
