On Thursday Polaris Prize organizers released details of the gala performance and a list of jury members for the award.

Two CBC radio personalities — Laurie Brown, host of CBC Radio Two program The Signal, and Stephanie Domet, host of Halifax Radio One program Mainstreet — are on the 11-member jury.

The jury of music journalists from across the country includes:

  • Stuart Berman of Eye Weekly in Toronto.
  • Ben Conoley of Here magazine in Fredericton.
  • Mike Doherty of the National Post in Toronto.
  • T'Cha Dunlevy of the Montreal Gazette.
  • Robert Everett-Green of the Globe and Mail in Toronto.
  • Cam Lindsay of Exclaim in Toronto.
  • Stéphane Martel of Voir in Montreal.
  • Sandra Sperounes of the Edmonton Journal.
  • John Sekerka of XPress in Ottawa.

A larger Polaris jury determined the nominees for the award this summer.

The jury will be deliberating while the show is happening and while five of the 10 nominees are performing.

Montrealers Miracle Fortress and Patrick Watson will perform, as well as Halifax's Joel Plaskett Emergency and Calgary alternative singer-songwriter Chad VanGaalen. New Brunswick's Julie Doiron will reunite with members of Eric's Trip for the gala.

The other Polaris nominees are Arcade Fire, The Besnard Lakes, The Dears, Feist and Junior Boys.

The gala is scheduled for Sept. 24 at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto and will be broadcast live on Sirius Radio 3.
