The association withheld the names of the producers associated with the films until it has determined who qualifies for credit in each film.

Award shows have been plagued with squabbles over production credits since they attempted to limit the numbers of people eligible for each film.

Canadian film Juno, about a pregnant teen played by Ellen Page, was produced by Fox Searchlight, considered a specialty division of U.S. production house Fox.

Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, shot in Alberta, won a nomination for best long-form television from the PGA.

It will compete with The Bronx Is Burning, High School Musical 2, Jane Eyre and The Starter Wife.

Dreamworks' Bee Movie, Pixar/Disney's Ratatouille and Fox's The Simpsons Movie earned nominations for best animated production.

Michael Moore's exploration of health care, Sicko, will vie with Iraq War tale Body of War for the documentary award.

Also nominated are Hear and Now, Pete Seeger: The Power of Song and White Light/Black Rain: The Destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

In television, Ugly Betty, 30 Rock, The Office, Entourage and Extras are competing for best comedy.

Other nominations:

  • Best TV drama: Dexter, Grey's Anatomy, Heroes, House, Lost, The Sopranos.
  • Non-fiction television: Deadliest Catch, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, Planet Earth, 60 Minutes.
