Satirical novel The Great Man wins PEN/Faulkner award

The Great Man is a satire skewering the art world, biographers and the myth of greatness in artists.

Christensen, from Brooklyn, N.Y., will get $15,000 US with the honour, which was announced Wednesday by the PEN/Faulkner Foundation in New York.

She has written three previous novels, including The Epicure's Lament and In the Drink.

Christensen will be presented with the award at a ceremony at the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C., in May.
