Caitlin Janvier

Caitlin Janvier

Strong-willed and rebellious, Caitlin's involvement with a bad crowd in her home town of Jackson River was a big part of Nelson's decision to bring her south with him to Yellowknife, in search of a fresh start.  Caitlin genuinely loves her brother, and she's trying to turn her life around.  But Nelson works long hours, which means Caitlin is on her own a great deal.  For a kid from a small Northern community, Yellowknife and its 20,000 population can seem overwhelming, but she's warming to life in the city, much more than she wants to admit.

Tanaya Beatty

Tanaya Beatty was born in Vancouver and grew up in small towns throughout the interior of BC (Midway, Nelson, Grand Forks etc.).  Her mother is of First Nations descent and her father of Himalayan, but was adopted and raised by a loving Italian family.

Throughout her life acting has always been a passion.   Feeling shy during high school, theatre and art were a way to connect and express.  She also developed an interest in psychology, so upon graduating enrolled in a Social Work program which she earned a certificate in.  Following this path, she became involved with her community's aboriginal education programs and also spent time working in family centers.

Throughout this time she continued to take various acting classes/workshops, and one day on a whim decided to attend the Twilight Saga: Eclipse open casting calls which was enough to reignite the spark she felt for acting.

In December 2010 she graduated from the Vancouver Film School where she completed the full time Essentials and Acting Program.  Since graduating she has appeared in Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn as Jacob Black's sister, Rachel Black. As well as the Gemini award winning series Blackstone where she played the fun and spunky character Sandra, and most recently a recurring character on CBC's new series Arctic Air where she plays Caitlin the younger sister of Jaren Brandt Bartlett.  She currently resides in Vancouver where in her spare time she enjoys painting, biking, writing, and yoga.
