Did You know?


• Denny Doherty was born in Halifax on Nov. 29, 1940. He died in January 2007, at the age of 66.

• He achieved great fame with The Mamas and the Papas in the 1960s. In this interview, he explains how he met some of the members of that band in the earlier part of his music career.

• Outside of his music career, Doherty did some work in television. In 1978, he hosted Denny's Sho' on CBC.

• He also did occasional acting work in both film and television. And in the 1990s, he played the role of the Harbour Master on Theodore Tugboat.
