Mansbridge One on One: Colm Feore

Peter Mansbridge is considered by many to be one of the most trusted faces in Canadian news. In his half-hour interview program called Mansbridge One on One, which still airs on CBC-TV, the renowned anchor and journalist speaks with fascinating people from all walks of life. Since it began airing in 1999, Mansbridge has interviewed politicians, business leaders, authors, activists, artists, journalists, and an eclectic variety of other various notable newsmakers.

Colm Feore likes to do a lot of research to prepare for his roles - but there is such a thing as going overboard, says the Canadian actor. "Knowing that the guy had oatmeal with cranberries for breakfast is immaterial," he jokes. In this 2001 episode of Mansbridge One on One, Feore talks about his upcoming blockbuster film, Pearl Harbour. He also discusses his years of performing Shakespeare on stage, but stresses that he doesn't consider stage acting to be superior to film: "Acting is acting is acting."
• Colm Feore has had a prolific acting career. In addition to his years on stage at the Stratford Festival in Stratford, Ont., he has been in numerous films including Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould (1993), The Red Violin (1998), Chicago (2002), The Chronicles of Riddick (2004) and Bon Cop, Bad Cop (2006). He played the title role in the 2002 CBC-TV mini-series Trudeau, and he's made countless other TV appearances, including a prominent role in the 2008 season of the hit U.S. series 24.
