REAL Women hold Ottawa conference in 1984

A new lobby group says it is standing up for women and families -- and feminists and gay rights activists are furious.
• According to its website, REAL (Realistic, Equal, Active, for Life) Women of Canada was formed in 1983.

• Gwen Landolt, who was vice president of REAL Women in 1984 at the time of this clip, remained so as of 2013.

• REAL Women was in the news again in August 2013. The group attacked Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird for his vocal support of groups in Kenya and Uganda who were speaking out against their countries' anti-gay laws.
