Pledge To Do Their Bit To Stop Cyber-bullying


The recent death of Nova Scotia teen Rehteah Parsons has struck a chord among teenagers here in Whitehorse.

Parsons took her own life after months of being tormented over a photo taken of her during an alleged rape. B-C teen Amanda Todd also committed suicide....after being harrassed after flashing her breasts online. These are just two among a growing number of incidents....some involving sexual assault, others involving extreme harrassment and bullying.

Porter Creek secondary school here in Whitehorse has taken a stand on the issue. Yesterday, the school held a rally, to talk about cyber-bullying. The school's social justice club talked about the recent victims, and lit candles in their memories.
